(Part 1) Wow. This was amazing, including the commentary… Braden is a legend indeed. I was almost in tears with this, much as I have been throughout the story so far. I feel like the skillful narrative so captures the fine lines between the desire and infatuation we’ve all felt to varying degrees, and allows the viewer to experience curiosity, vulnerability, trepidation, ecstasy, and the whole lot. Brian’s commentary is equally compelling—humorous, insightful, even expository.

(Part 2) Not expository in a didactic way, but with heart. I’ve been following week after week, and checking every evening to see if there’s a new upload. I went through a similar story some years ago in my life, quite amazingly like this story, once each with two different friends. One was extremely magnanimous and perceptive of my experience and anguish—embracing the connection when I admitted my feelings.

(Part 4--sorry, I know...) The excitement, the joy, the closeness and intimacy—these are embodied in the story. It brings back all the fear and avoidance that were part of my life—I was/am so much like Zack—and the posturing to seem like somebody who would be supposedly more accepted by others. I imagine that what later follows will be complicated just as life is—my guess is jealousy, possessiveness, varying degrees of manipulation, and perhaps Zack and Braden going in their own ways.

(Final part of message) That would be probably as real and honest as the game has been so far. But for once, here on this gorgeous sunny day in Cleveland, I’m watching and feeling happy at this realization, for a moment, of what we all wish we had, even fleetingly.

mindfield, that was incredible. You're a poet. And I think you're right - I think Zack's self-doubt and...well, is self-loathing too strong?? are all too common. And the story, like all good stories, tries to be realistic and yet also hopeful and uplifting. I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

(Part 3) The second story was more painful and closer; after initial romantic closeness and touching compassion, he eventually completely turned on me after he realized the perceptions of his friends of our relationship—then I became the object of his animosity and eventual hatred and narcissistic discard. “You ruined my life” followed by every targeted nasty insult and name I’ve heard… and from my then best friend no less.
